NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New York Life, America\u2019s largest1<\/sup> mutual life insurer, today announced that Christopher D. Kastner, president and chief executive officer of Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (NYSE: HII), has joined the company\u2019s board of directors, effective immediately. Kastner will serve as a member of the board\u2019s Audit and Investment committees.\n<\/p><\/a><\/a>

\nKastner was named president and CEO of HII in March 2022. He previously served as HII\u2019s executive vice president and chief operating officer, as well as the company\u2019s chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to joining HII\u2019s senior executive team, Kastner was vice president and CFO for HII\u2019s Ingalls Shipbuilding division. He spent over two decades at Northrop Grumman Corporation in various leadership roles before joining HII in connection with its 2011 spin-off from Northrop Grumman.\n<\/p>

\nKastner earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from Pepperdine University.\n<\/p>
