COLUMBIA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The MolinaCares Accord<\/a> (\u201cMolinaCares\u201d), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare (\u201cMolina\u201d), announced a $60,000 grant to Feeding Missouri<\/a>. The grant will support six food banks across the state, including the Second Harvest Community Food Bank<\/a>, Harvesters - The Community Food Network<\/a>, Southeast Missouri Food Bank<\/a>, The Food Bank For Central & Northeast Missouri<\/a>, St. Louis Area Foodbank<\/a> and Ozarks Food Harvest<\/a>.<\/p><\/a><\/a>

\nIn Missouri, 12.7% of households<\/a> face food insecurity and are unable to provide adequate food for one or more household members. Additionally, one in ten<\/a> Missourians do not have access to nutritious foods. The Molina grant will be evenly distributed between the six local food banks and is expected to provide up to 240,000 meals across Missouri.<\/p>

\n\u201cFunding from the MolinaCares grant enables us to expand access to fresh and nutritious food on a more consistent basis through mobile food distributions,\u201d said Leigh Anne Haun, executive director of Feeding Missouri. \u201cWith this support we are able to reach Missourians in areas of low food access both in our urban communities and in rural parts of the state.\u201d<\/p>
