After being selected seventh overall in the 2007 MLB Draft, he went on to play for seven years with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Indians, and was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team. Following his retirement from baseball, he brought the same discipline and competitive drive to the world of finance and business, most recently serving as founder and operating partner of Wayfinder Capital Partners. Prior to that, LaPorta worked as a Director of Private Equity at A111 Capital, where he sourced proprietary deal flow, structured acquisitions, and led capital raising efforts. He was also a partner at sports advisory and investment firm True Up Capital.<\/p>
