<\/a><\/a>The first release from Workato Labs is an open-source toolkit built for developers and AI builders using AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and GitHub Copilot. It introduces wk, a new command-line interface (CLI), along with tools to build, validate, and visualize Workato workflows, known as recipes, directly from local development environments.<\/p>
Whether a developer is asking Claude Code to build a marketing automation workflow, migrating hundreds of integrations, or managing Workato assets through git, the toolkit gives AI assistants and developers code-based access to Workato without leaving the tools they already use.<\/p>
\u201cAI coding assistants are core to how developers build,\u201d said Adam Seligman, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of AI Incubation at Workato. \u201cDevelopers love code, and AI agents do too. Workato Labs extends Workato into developer tools, making it easier to build, validate, and manage Workato projects using the same tools developers already trust, like Claude Code and Codex.\u201d<\/p>
Code-first access to Workato<\/b><\/p>
Workato Labs is designed for developers to easily build Workato orchestrations, while working directly with tools they love like the terminal, IDEs, and git.<\/p>
The initial toolkit includes:<\/p>
- wk CLI<\/b>, a new Go-based command-line interface for pulling, pushing, diffing, and managing Workato assets through a single lightweight binary<\/li>
- Recipe Skills<\/b>, connector-specific context for AI coding assistants, so they can generate Workato recipes with the right actions, fields, and structure<\/li>
- Recipe Linter<\/b>, deterministically validates recipes locally before deployment<\/li>
- Recipe Visualizer<\/b>, renders Workato recipes inside VS Code, Cursor, and Windsurf<\/li><\/ul>
Together, these tools let developers use AI coding assistants to understand an existing Workato project, generate new recipes, validate changes, visualize execution, and deploy updates, all without leaving their development environment.<\/p>
Early adoption demonstrates demand for developer-first automation<\/b><\/p>
Organizations have already begun using the toolkit to support AI-assisted development, enterprise migrations, and large-scale Workato development.<\/p>
At onXmaps, engineering teams adopted the CLI to bring Workato into the development practices they already use every day.<\/p>
