In his role at BNSF, North America\u2019s leading railroad, which operates a network of 32,500 route miles in 28 states and three Canadian provinces, Podell oversees supplier strategy and management, as well as assessment of new supplier technologies. He also leads a focus on leveraging supplier spend across the BNSF and Berkshire Hathaway organization.<\/p>

\nPrior to BNSF, Podell held senior executive leadership roles at Discover Financial Services, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement and Corporate Services Officer. In addition, Podell held leadership roles in business transformation and supply chain at Novartis, McDonald\u2019s, and AMD.<\/p>
\nHe began his professional career as a trial attorney after earning a bachelor's degree in business at Arizona State University and a law degree at Marquette University Law School.<\/p>
