OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best <\/b>has maintained the under review with developing implications status for the Financial Strength Rating of B+ (Good) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of \u201cbbb-\u201d (Good) of Pillar Life Insurance Company (Pillar) (Harrisburg, PA).<\/p><\/a><\/a>

The Credit Ratings (ratings) reflect Pillar\u2019s balance sheet strength, which AM Best assesses as strong, as well as its marginal operating performance, limited business profile and marginal enterprise risk management.<\/p>

The sale of Pillar is taking longer to complete than initially expected; however, the transaction is anticipated to close before year end. The financial position of the company has not materially changed since it was initially placed under review. The ratings will remain under review with developing implications until AM Best\u2019s analytical team meets with the new management group to discuss the future direction of Pillar.<\/p>
