JUNEAU, Alaska--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation\u2019s (APFC) Board of Trustees Governance Committee reviewed a proposed charter to establish a Benchmark Review Committee, an advisory body that would periodically evaluate the performance benchmarks identified in APFC\u2019s Investment Policy and ensure they remain appropriate, transparent, and aligned with the Fund\u2019s long-term objectives.<\/p><\/a><\/a>

\n\u201cStrong governance depends on clear standards for measuring investment performance,\u201d said Ethan Schutt, Chair of the Governance Committee. \u201cA consistent, transparent review process strengthens oversight and helps ensure those standards remain aligned with the Fund\u2019s objectives. \nThe proposed charter outlines how the Benchmark Review Committee would review and recommend changes to investment benchmarks. Under the proposal, the committee would assess the rationale for any benchmark modification, evaluate its potential impact on performance measurement, risk assessment, and reporting, and recommend an implementation timeline, including the effective date of any approved change. This process would help ensure benchmark decisions are well-founded, consistently applied, and supportive of APFC\u2019s fiduciary responsibilities and investment goals.<\/p>

\nThe Governance Committee forwarded the proposal to the full Board of Trustees to consider at the September 30-October 1, 2026, Annual Meeting of the Board.<\/p>
