These concessions include changes to how employees earn vacation time, which could result in reduced vacation, and changes to the health insurance coverage.<\/p><br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20260721211524\/en\/807835\/5\/Logo_CUPE_Communique.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20260721211524\/en\/807835\/22\/Logo_CUPE_Communique.jpg\" \/><\/a><br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20260721211524\/en\/807835\/5\/Logo_CUPE_Communique.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mms.businesswire.com\/media\/20260721211524\/en\/807835\/21\/Logo_CUPE_Communique.jpg\" \/><\/a><p>\n\u201cWe spent weeks fighting alongside our fellow long term care workers province-wide fighting for better wages, but now that the lead table has settled, our employer refuses to settle until we agree to accept terms <b>worse<\/b> than what we have now,\u201d said Betty Best, the president of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 2330, which represents the workers of Valley View Villa. \u201cThat\u2019s a concession and these workers aren\u2019t going to take that.\u201d<\/p><p>\nValley View Villa is managed by High Crest Enterprises, a for-profit organization, and is not bound to the agreements made at the provincial level as they are not represented by Health Association Nova Scotia (HANS) like most other homes.
