(the \u201cTs\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw Group\u201d), announced today the successful closing of the Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw Group\u2019s acquisition from Great Canadian of Elements Casino Chilliwack, one of the premier gaming and entertainment destinations in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia.<\/p><\/a><\/a>

\nThe Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw Tribe constitutes seven First Nation communities and are the First People of the Chilliwack River watershed. The transaction represents a transformational milestone for the communities within the Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw Group.<\/p>

\nElements Casino Chilliwack serves guests across the Fraser Valley and is one of Chilliwack\u2019s top destinations for gaming and entertainment, featuring over 300 slots, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining, live entertainment and more.<\/p>

\nThe Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw are one of the tribes of the St\u00f3:l\u014d \u2013 People of the River \u2013 and are part of the broader Coast Salish collective. The Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw are the First People of the Chilliwack River watershed in the Central Fraser Valley of southwestern British Columbia. The Halq\u2019em\u00e9ylem tribal name \u201cTs\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw\u201d forms the etymology of the English word \u201cChilliwack\u201d.<\/p>

\nThe Ts'elxw\u00e9yeqw Tribe\u2019s territory, rich in history, culture and tradition, covers 95,000 hectares and encompasses a portion of land over the border with the United States. In the mid-18th century, with the creation of the Indian Act, the Ts\u2019elxw\u00e9yeqw Tribe, a strong territory based First Nations, became seven Indian Act First Nation communities.
